I have written about the amazing prophecy of Haggai 2:6-7 previously in Inspired By The Spirit Vol 24, under “I Will Fill This House With Glory!” This short piece adds to that former article. Some new light has been shone on those ancient words: For thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land...’ (Hag 2:6). The Hebrew word translated dry (land) literally means “drained” (land) (Concordant Version). That reminds us of the former restoration of the earth prior to the creation of mankind (Genesis 1) when the entire earth’s surface was dark and covered with water. God’s Spirit moved upon that surface, restoring it all. So, when God declares that ONCE MORE He will shake heaven and earth, we are envisaging a one-off event that completely transforms the whole planet and has massive impact on the heavenlies also. What singular event births all that? It is Jesus’ Second Coming. It is far more than the downfall of kingdoms and empires. The banishment of Satan and all his hordes of demons occurs when Jesus returns (Rev 20:1-3). That is a major way the heavenlies will be shaken. The shaking to affect the earth begins now. It is already happening with the raising of the dead and the confrontation of Muslim nations by MM vans with MM literature upheld as the frontispiece of God’s Work. John and the team present The Last Call To All Muslim Nations to Imams at the many mosques they are led to by the 7 angels. The angels manifest as pillars of smoke by day in front of the vans, or as pillars of fire at night. These phenomena are seen by onlookers. Most imams are frightened. Some collapse. And so the Way is being prepared for Jesus’ return as prophesied in Isaiah 40:3-8 and Malachi 3:1. 25 years ago, in 1991, from the 24th day of the 9th month in the Hebrew calendar, the foundation for this Work of God began to be laid. I have explained the curious parallelism to do with this date in IBS24, on pages 14 and 15. Haggai 2:18 mentions the date. It’s Happening In Our Time!‘...And I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory’... (Hag 2:7). The shaking: This is happening in our day, right now, in 2016, and will continue over the next few years. Graves opening and dead people arising, to walk this earth and declare the Gospel of Jesus, shakes nations. It is shaking preconceptions. It shakes ideologies. It is shaking Islam and other religions. They shall come... refers to the nations, the Gentile peoples coming to Jesus. Many of them are coming now. All will come in the Millennium. The verb form is plural in the Hebrew, so it refers to the nations, not to The Desire Of All Nations, coming. I will fill this temple with glory: What is more glorious than bringing dead people up from the grave, declaring the name of Jesus, with miraculous signs and wonders as a witness of God’s power? (Heb 2:4.) ‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former... and I will give peace..’ (Hag 2:9). The temple He was referring to is the spiritual House of God (1 Cor 3:16,17). God was not referring to a physical building being greater than Solomon’s temple. His focus is on the image of God being formed in humanity, in those who are receptive to Him. And the greater part of that hope lay in the future, in our day, in this Church Age, and in the Millennial Age beyond when all will receive His transforming Spirit. The whole surface of the earth was transformed during re-creation week. So shall the whole of humanity be spiritually transformed by Jesus. I believe that is the glory of the latter temple to which God was looking forward to. It is confirmed by the words: And in this place I will give peace: Israel has not had that desired peace. The promise is Millennial. God certainly encouraged the repatriates with those promises, but the full meaning was hidden from their eyes, and has been hidden from our eyes until now. But now these Scriptures are coming alive as they find their fulfilment in these last days. Malcolm B Heap. Sept 2016 |
