A swirling wind opened up her grave, and without being able to see how the angels did it, witnesses saw Emily raised up from her grave. She had been murdered 22 months earlier, but God restored her to physical life again, after being in the spirit realm and being shown various things by God. You have probably read the account of this miracle previously in Mighty Miracles of God volumes 2 and 3. Why did God do it? And why did He do all the other amazing miracles in conjunction with the MM outreach in Africa and the Middle East? Many of these miraculous events are unprecedented in modern time. A precedent for such an exceptional resurrection is only in Jesus’ time, after He arose (Matt 27:51-53) – at no other time in history! There have been other exceptional miracles. Reasons: 1) God prophesied way back, about 2800 years ago, about such phenomena: Behold, I will do a new thing. Now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it?... (Is 43:19a.) This is in the context of God confronting enemies like that which Israel faced from Egypt (Is 43:16-18) at the Red Sea. The enemies were used by Satan to try and thwart God’s plan. That is one reason. 2) You can also read in the previous chapter of Isaiah, how God’s people would be spiritually robbed and plundered, trapped in prison houses (churches) (Is 42:22). “They are for prey and no one delivers them” (same verse). There ought to be a call “RESTORE!” but no call is heard (same verse). This atrocious captivity (also mentioned in Isaiah 52:1-3) is despite Jesus having come to exalt the law and make it honourable! (Is 42:21.) That teaching has been undermined by impostors masquerading as ministers of Jesus Christ, who have conned the majority with antinomian heresies. God raises up a standard where the enemy comes in like a flood (Is 59:19). God’s Restored Truth is that righteous standard now. Isaiah prophesied: I will even make a road in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert (Is 43:19b.) This prophecy is dual. It has its final fulfilment when Jesus restores everything in the Millennium. And its forerunner is occurring now, as the true Way (the Faith Once Delivered To The Saints) is restored in the spiritual wildernesses of Tunisia and other African and Middle Eastern countries, not to mention the spiritual desert of Britain! The rivers of God’s Holy Spirit and Truth are being experienced by thirsty and thankful souls. Lives are being transformed for good – some whom society would have considered ‘beasts’ (Is 43:20). They are declaring His praise (43:21). God’s Truth has been undermined, vilified and distorted, so that the majority of Christians have been duped with lies and half truths. But the True Gospel in the Faith Once Delivered To The Saints is restored. That is the second reason. We are His witnesses to this fact, as Isaiah said: You are My witnesses, says the Lord, and My servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He... (Is 43:10). 3) Furthermore, God promised: There is no one who can deliver out of My hand; I work, and who will reverse it? (Is 43:13.) Hence, Satan and all his demons cannot thwart the MM outreach. And the gunmen he motivates to try and kill the team and destroy the vans are themselves killed by God’s means. The only biblical precedent for this in the time of the prophets was that of Elijah (2 Kings 1). These are the days of Elijah! But who realises it and grasps its significance?! The Church slumbers in deception, as Jesus predicted in the parable of the ten virgins (Matt 25:5). The hour is late. The midnight cry goes out (v 6) but who listens? It’s not a welcome sound when you are asleep! It’s the last thing you want to hear; correction is never palatable. Reform is painful. It means dying to self; total self-abasement; giving up of the old ways; jettisoning long held church traditions and errors. But with a humble heart you can accept the “new things I declare” (Is 42:9). |
