In Luke 4:18-19, we learn of Jesus reading the words of the prophet Isaiah, from Isaiah 61:1-2.  Luke recorded what Jesus read out in the synagogue in Nazareth, where Jesus was brought up:

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” Then He closed the book... (Luke 4:18-20).

He omitted these words from Isaiah’s passage:

And the day of vengeance of our God.

It was not God’s time for vengeance to fall upon all wickedness back then, but it is now. Luke recorded Jesus’ words for this end time now:

These are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled (Lk 21:22).

That’s why we are seeing upset weather, more upset than ever before; nations descending into chaos with an imminent economic collapse (probably during the next two years), and unprecedented turmoil across countries as Islamic terror makes waves. Besides those waves there will be tsunami waves, earthquakes and tornadoes on an ever increasing scale. Sin carries a price in the physical as well as the spiritual. Jesus paid the price for those who accept Him as Saviour. But for those who reject His clemency, vengeance awaits. God is completely intolerant of sin.

Humanity must come to learn that.

God controls weather (Ezek 14:13; Lev 26:19, 20; Deut 28:23,24; Is 3:1). It will be unpredictable.

People in our godless society are filled with material pursuit (Is 2:7). Spiritual blindness is greater than ever before. They do not see God’s assessment of their state: forsaken by Him (2:6), filled with eastern ways (2:6), doing trade deals with God-haters (2:6); materialistically prosperous and with vehicles galore (2:7); worshipping the work of their own hands (2:8).

Their blatant idolatry earns God’s vengeance. A time of unprecedented terror is coming. Most people have never experienced the terror of God (2:10). But it is coming upon everything that is lifted up against Him (2:12) in this time labelled “the day of the Lord.”

“It is a day of universal judgment which will affect all mankind, all civilization, and all nature.” (Footnote, NKJV Believer’s Study Bible.) It is not one day, but a period of time. We are living in it now.

Judgement begins at God’s house (1 Pet 4:17).

Enmity In The House of God

Preachers are being judged now. For example, I wrote to a US tele-evangelist (one of MANY), sending him input for him to accept and correct his wayward teaching. He rejected it and was struck down with an illness. God was warning him. His wife prayed for him and he gradually got better but continued in his ways. He has determined NOT to repent. When the witness goes out, he will be struck dead. Other preachers also who resist and oppose the witness of MM will find themselves likewise recipients of God’s vengeance.

Elijah called down fire from heaven upon the king’s soldiers who opposed him. ‘Elijah’ today is no different. Vengeance is God’s. He repays.

Lately My people have risen up as an enemy (Micah 2:8).

There are many enemies in the house of God, who claim to be God’s people. Who tests the spirits? (1 Jn 4:1.) Few! You don’t see televangelists reproving falsity or exposing false ministers, because many are:

...false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ (2 Cor 11:13).

It’s judgement time in God’s house. Restored truths are being presented. Those who reject them will themselves be rejected by God. The seven last plagues will afflict all who reject (Rev 16). God does not tolerate rebellion. It is as the sin of witchcraft.

When saints and prophets are killed by godless opponents, God exacts fierce judgement (Rev 16:6). The world considers God unfair and unreasonable. The angels disagree! They declare:

True and righteous are Your judgments (v 7).

God is visiting His people NOW. Revival is just ahead. But most will not heed! Jesus declared:

You did not know the time of your visitation (Luke 19:44).

As it was then, so it still is now, only worse!
