Are You Listening To God? oooooooo oooooo Are you listening to God? Or are His words to you like the blanks above? Meaningless? Hard to comprehend? Or too much effort to decipher? If you draw a blank when He speaks, you’re in for Proverbs 1 treatment. f you don’t know what I mean by "Proverbs 1 treatment" read the chapter and take an honest look at yourself. Are you one who truly loves and fears God or do you not care that much and therefore treat lightly what He says?
If so, this will be the treatment meted out to you: Because I have called and you refused, I have stretched out My hand and no one regarded, because you disdained all My counsel, and would have none of My rebuke, I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes (Prov 1:24-26).
Terror is certainly coming! God has warned about that in dreams, too.
God Speaks In Dreams
On 8th September 2006, Mila was given this dream:
The Voice and The Writing I saw a big River flowing through a beautiful green area. The deep waters of the river were clear and it was flowing slowly and quietly. Then I saw some writing on a white sheet above the River. I tried to read it, but somehow I could not get beyond the first sentence. I also heard a Voice repeating what was written on the sheet. It said: What do people think they are doing, and where do they think they are going when they do what’s NOT My will? I didn’t wake up, but suddenly I realised that I had had this same dream before. Yet I had forgotten it completely. After that, through the rest of the night I kept repeating the words I had heard (in order not to forget them), while simultaneously having some other dreams.
Here is the meaning of the dream. Mila was placed in the position of most Christians, whose appreciation of God and His Word are shallow:
I saw a big River flowing through a beautiful green area. The deep waters of the river were clear and it was flowing slowly and quietly. This is the spiritual River of Life that flows from God’s throne (Rev 22), bringing God’s truth and love to people. God’s Spirit comes quietly, but its verdant effects are seen as in the allegory of the beautiful green area it creates in people’s lives, bringing God’s peace.
Then I saw writing on a white sheet above the River. I tried to read it, but somehow I could not get beyond the first sentence. This depicts the widespread lack of comprehension of God’s pure truth. Most Christians have not progressed beyond the basics of spiritual learning. Because they don’t want more, they cannot understand more.
I also heard a Voice repeating what was written on the sheet. It said: What do people think they are doing, and where do they think they are going when they do what’s NOT My will? This is the crux of the problem. People don’t understand because they don’t want to obey. When people are ready to obey, then God opens up their minds to understand.
I didn’t wake up, but suddenly I realised that I had had this same dream before. Yet I had forgotten it completely. This is also allegoric. It illustrates that God has tried to reach many Christians with further truth, but they haven’t listened to Him. They rejected the one who brought truth.
After that, through the rest of the night I kept repeating the words I had heard (in order not to forget them). Likewise, if you (reader) want to retain God’s truth, you have to keep it in mind and not let things slip.
God Speaks Through Prophets
When a person is ready (humble enough) to receive God’s truths, God can unlock the mind. Quite often, desperation has to precede this revealing.
Unfortunately, most believers are satisfied with what they have and where they are already, spiritually. They don’t want any more, epitomised by the allegory of Laodicean lukewarmness in Revelation 3:15-18.
In Mila’s dream analogy above, God didn’t say how His River comes, other than imperceptibly and quietly. Truth is brought in various ways. One way is a via a prophet. Where the Church is lulled to sleep by men who lead her, that’s the prophet’s occasion.
On 5th December 1999, Stephen W Morris wrote this prophetic word of warning:
I am sending My messengers. I have given them a message for this time and for this hour and I am sending them forth into the body of Christ to deliver the message that I have given unto them. Look for those I have sent into your midst, those who speak My oracles...
Do you know why it was phrased that way? When God warns people to look for something it’s because they WON’T naturally look for it. The people of God DO NOT LOOK FOR GOD’S PROPHETS and DO NOT WANT TO HEAR FROM THEM. His prophetic word continued:
For it is a message for this hour...
I had contact with Stephen Morris at that time. That’s why God said it was a message for this hour. He was meant to recognise the message we brought, but he didn’t. He dismissed me along with the oracles I brought as of no relevance. And the whole Church does the same thing, except very few.
I am no one, but the message which God has given me and which I have written in MM publications, by comparison, is everything at this time! Is it not a grievous sin to dismiss, ignore and reject the oracles of God?!
For there are priorities on earth and priorities in heaven. Many of the priorities on earth are dictated by the demands of the flesh...
Such is the case even amidst believers, and corporate churches. Hence, corporate churches don’t listen to the prophets and miss most of what God is saying for the benefit of His people.
The things that are about to take place, the things that shall happen soon, and very soon, that will cause empires to crumble, cause economic chaos and provoke military conflict, those things, says the Lord, will occur because many have hearkened to the messengers who have proclaimed messages that have originated from desires to satisfy the flesh.
My messengers shall bring you a message, which if you choose to receive it, will satisfy your spirit and will strengthen you and encourage you for the battle which is ahead of you. I will be with you, and those who receive the message from My messengers will be strengthened and they will walk in the power of My Holy Spirit...
Most don’t receive the message from God’s human messengers. Most are self-willed, self-centred, self-orientated. So, most are not strengthened. They still seek after the things of the flesh. Their hearts are not desirous enough of the things of the Spirit.
The few words underlined – "if you choose to receive it" – are the root of the problem for most.
Two Messages Of This Messenger
Notice what God said in the following dream:
30th August 2006. M. MM clearing the oversite. I was clearing the oversite (the rough ground prior to constructing a new building). Two skips had been filled. They were very neatly done. The soil was pushed down tight and levelled off neatly. One skip was large. The other was small. A Man had done this with His machine. The next job, which I was just about to begin, was to dig the foundations for the new dwelling. The site was in a garden alongside a larger property (which I didn’t see), using an area of the lawn. It was slightly sloping. The skips were ready to be taken away, but it had just started raining, so the lorry driver waited. Trying to get them out uphill, on slippery ground could prove difficult. I wondered whether we would have to wait for a long time, because rain is forecast for the next few days. The Driver was the Man who had also done the work (even though I knew that I was doing the work, too). As I walked uphill, He was watching me. I dropped my box of matches on the ground and it went rolling downhill. I caught up with it and picked it up. As I was walking, not looking where I was going (God guides us; we don’t go by human sight or planning), I was about 30 feet away from the area where the building was to be built. I thought I was only about 10 feet away, but when I looked up I noticed the distance and moved back closer.
Meaning: Clearing the oversite depicts the present work of MM, preparing for the new Building of God. The two skips. Yesterday I was writing an article about the influences of demons. I didn’t know what the dream meant until God pointed out to me a slip of paper on which I had made a note of what He had prompted me to write. It was the lead article title for Newsletter 37, about the dead coming back, identifying many of them. Then He dropped it into my mind that the large skip represents the article on demons – which have to be cleared away. (DEMONS... was too big to include in N37. It is a separate article.) The smaller skip represents the lead article WAKING The Dead.
They were very neatly done. A Man had done this with His machine. What Jesus does, He does well. This is another indication to other people that Jesus is behind what I write. He moves and inspires; gives thoughts, ideas and the guidance.
The next job, which I was just about to begin, was to dig the foundations for the new dwelling. More work is ahead for us. MM is preparing for God’s Building like the New Jerusalem analogy in Revelation 21:2, which is the glorious Spiritual Dwelling of God amidst His people.
The site was in a garden alongside a larger property using an area of the lawn. Midnight Ministries’ work is part of the Universal Church, but separate from the existing. It is a new development.
It was slightly sloping. It is an uphill struggle for us.
The skips were ready to be taken away. What is written is ready for people to learn from.
It had just started raining. Revival has started. The outpouring of the Spirit has begun.
The lorry driver waited. Jesus is waiting for His people to get ready.
Trying to get them out uphill, on slippery ground could prove difficult. The task of MM IS difficult. But it is what we are assigned to do for Him.
I wondered whether we would have to wait for a long time, because rain is forecast for the next few days. The revival is going to intensify. More outpouring is to come. It takes time, patience and perseverance to get the job done.
The Driver was the Man who had also done the work (even though I knew that I was doing the work, too). Jesus is the One who is really doing the work of MM. We are merely His human instruments.
As I walked uphill, He was watching me. Praise God that He is watching over us.
I dropped my box of matches on the ground and it went rolling downhill. I caught up with it and picked it up. We are to ignite a fire of God. There will be a power surge that will be sparked by the dead coming to life, and the subsequent fire of revival and judgement that will erupt.
I noticed the distance and moved back closer. For a while we will be taken away from immediate closeness with Him because of circumstances (meddling from civil authorities and their demonic interference), but we will be able to come back closer to Him and get on with the job.
What a wonderful dream! Reminding us that He is with us always, and constantly watching over us, to complete the task He has begun.
If God takes the trouble to give such a detailed dream, do you not think He is trying to get across something important? What do you think His reaction is when most people simply don’t care?! He is angry.
And if He highlights two particular messages by allegorising them as skips (containers for rubbish), is He not saying that there is rubbish in the Church that needs clearing away, and that I have done the necessary to enable that garbage to begin to be removed by what He had me put in those two articles?
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says [is saying] to the churches (Rev 3:22).
In another dream, God said this:
5th September 2006. M. Our vegetable garden. The vegetable patch in our garden was chock full of lovely vegetables! Meaning: Vegetables are nourishing food. They contain lots of minerals and vitamins for good health. So is MM lit for the spiritual man. As in the dream of 30th August, this material is ready to feed people.
Prophetic Correction Is Abrupt
God gives us directions and ‘nudges’ to write to various people. Much of this contact is corrective, to try and wake them up. That can be pretty abrupt, even offensive.
Some years ago, God told us to write to a lady and tell her that she was backsliding. She didn’t think so, of course. When she got the letter she burst into tears. But it had the desired effect, and God woke her up. She has been listening ever since.
0Another man I wrote to similarly, responded positively. All that is encouraging. However, correction is not naturally welcomed. Our natural prideful sense of independence and self-sufficiency balks at it. So, most people reject correction, and get offended. Some turn hostile. Others slink away and hide.
Proverbs 1 tells them (if they would listen) how they have offended God by their response.
They should remember what Paul said:
Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by which you were sealed for the Day of Redemption (Eph 4:30).
Young’s literal version translates this as:
Make not sorrowful the Holy Spirit of God, in which ye were sealed to a day of redemption.
So many break that seal! By so doing, they open themselves up to the spiritual enemy (Eph 4:27).
Mila was given a dream about a relative of hers who did this. He began to obey God, but then shut the door on Him through self-will and disobedience. God spoke to Mila about it. As she was praying on 12th September He put this in her spirit:
We have the flow of God’s Holy Spirit, coming from His very throne – powerful, pure, and clear. All that feeds from Him is beautiful. But outside of it is darkness, lies, deceit and doubt.
Sadly, people tend to choose the darkness and lies. Ironically, it is more appealing than pure truth.
Therefore, He says: Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light (Eph 5:14).
Do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is (Eph 5:17).
They won’t understand what God’s will is if they don’t listen to what He says. And He’s speaking to His prophets in dreams. But who’s listening? Few.
God Speaks In Riddle Or Allegory
God, in His ingenuity, ‘hides’ what He is saying in riddle or allegory. Those who truly seek Him – which means they are willing to obey Him from the heart – will understand. He grants this to the few:
The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him (Ps 25:14).
Remember the reference to foundations being prepared by MM in the dream of 30th August above?
Those from among you shall build the old waste places. You shall raise up the foundations of many generations. And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, the Restorer of Paths to Dwell In (Is 58:12).
The main fulfilment of that prophecy is in Jesus after He returns. But He is preparing the Way now, just as John the Baptist prepared the Way prior to His first coming.
Also, remember Mila’s dream of the River and the beautiful green places it produced?
You shall be like a watered garden (Is 58:11).
For the Church today, the fulfilment of that promise is predicated upon people doing what God adjures them in verse 13 to do – keep His Sabbaths holy. Most will not do it! So He speaks in riddle:
That they might go and fall backward, and be broken and snared and caught (Is 28:13).
For with stammering lips and another tongue He will speak to this people, to whom He said, ‘This is the rest with which you may cause the weary to rest,’ and ‘This is the refreshing.’ Yet they would not hear (Is 28:11,12).
Just as in Israel of old, today’s Church does not listen to God. Isaiah prophesied about it:
...this is a rebellious people, lying children; children who will not hear the Law of the Lord; who say to the seers, ‘Do not see,’ and to the prophets, ‘Do not prophesy to us right things; speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits.’ (Is 30:9,10.)
You don’t believe me that the above refers to a large portion of the body of Christ today? Who was the Bible written for, then? And why would God say?:
Now go, write it before them... that it may be for a time to come, forever and ever (Is 30:9).
"Forever and ever" means in Hebrew "from age to age". Just as those words applied to God’s people in that age, so they apply now in this Church Age.
‘Divide’ The Word To Listen To Him
There is another way God speaks that many should heed. You know He speaks through Jesus (Heb 1:2) who is also called the Word of God (Jn 1:1, 14). And you know that God has inspired His written word to give us guidance.
So incredible is His Word that the Bible is a living Book. When you handle it properly, and have the meekness to learn from it, it comes alive in your hands. God leads you to see things in it that directly answer your questions and dilemmas.
That’s because it is anointed by His Spirit – not the physical book, but the words in the Bible. He speaks to you through it, very directly. As you read it, He’s right there with you. We all need to be aware of that fact. You know the injunction to rightly divide the Word of Truth (2 Tim 2:15), and not abuse it by misappropriating texts, distorting their true meaning.
There is another way the Word is ‘divided’, or separated out. If you seek God for a solution to an issue that is unresolved in your mind, or for an answer to some question, it is not uncommon for you to simply open up the Bible at random and find the answer staring you in the face somewhere on that page!
Say you are in a fellowship meeting and you don’t know what God wants you to examine that day. Open the good Book at random, and start there. He can lead you from then on, if you are open to His Spirit. If you pray this as David did, God answers:
Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from Your Law (Ps 119:18).
One day in our fellowship meeting we were moved to do that. (We don’t do that very often.) Each person took their Bible and opened it at random. It was quite amazing how the passage or book to which they opened was immediately relevant to them! What was even more amazing, however, was how only a few recognised that relevance. Some couldn’t see how what they got referred to them.
That’s like a child, who, in immaturity, doesn’t see beyond the limits of their own experience, ability or comprehension.
God speaks – in fact, He never fails to do so – but whether you can hear what He has to say is up to you and your willingness or spiritual state. So, if you get an answer that you don’t recognise, let alone understand, don’t dump it. Put it on the shelf until later; keep seeking God until you do recognise what He’s trying to say to you. Be like Mary who pondered and communed with God in her heart (Luke 2:19).
On 9th September 2006, Kassahun was given this dream:
When I opened my Bible randomly to learn what God will speak to me, I found a text which said: "Those who couldn’t see Me will soon see Me." It was a promise to those who are hungry and thirsty, that they will see the glory of God.
Indeed. That is the key: hunger and thirst for the things of God (Matt 5:6).
He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich He has sent away empty (Luke 1:53).
Where Listening Begins
The ‘secret’ to listening to God is receptivity. That’s not a ‘spooky’ peculiar mode into which you lapse, eyes shut, tuning out everything around you and ‘tuning in’ to spiritual wavelengths. God can speak to you in any situation, anywhere.
It all depends upon whether your heart is receptive to what He will say. There’s a word which encompasses all that: obedience – submission.
Jesus didn’t go into ‘weird mode’ to hear from God. He was constantly attuned to Him, so He heard from Him continually. This is what He said about why:
The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him (Jn 8:29).
MM Newsletters and publications are compiled that way. God gives a title or a subject on which I should write. Often I don’t know what is to go in each article until I start. Sometimes there’s nothing in my head at all! But as I get started with the first thing that comes to mind, and faithfully include it, then the next thought follows. Thus, God leads the compilation step by step.
Of course, it doesn’t mean that God has given every detail, nor do I always use the best descriptive terms or vocabulary, but overall He guides to ensure that the product will feed people spiritually.
If that is your object in life, He will guide you, too. He isn’t a God merely of prophets. He’s the God of the faithful. If you are faithful to Him, He will be faithful to you.
The Truth Is Shocking!
The shocking truth about churches is they have apostatised. Apostasy is a turning away from truth.
I have mentioned one way most churches fail to listen to God: they refuse to keep the Sabbath holy. God’s command in Exodus 20:8-11 was never changed or annulled. A second way is by rejecting true prophets who bring further truth. A third way is by rejecting the gifts of the Spirit. A fourth way is by resisting the correction of the Spirit and the progress of Truth via the Spirit’s restoration. And a fifth way is because the Spirit’s authority is replaced in ALL churches by human authority in a masquerade.
By deliberately rejecting – or ignoring – the restored truths which God is bringing back for His people, the vast majority of Christians fail to listen to God. They will consign themselves to Tribulation, as prophesied in the Bible. (See Revelation 2:19-22; 3:15-17.) There is no secret rapture to ‘evaporate’ all believers. (See Matthew 24:8-10, 15-22.) Only a very few will be privy to such sort of eventuality, and that won’t be the way populist rapture theorists propose! God has spoken, and we have laid out His words in literature that you can either accept or reject. Here are some titles for starters:
God’s Church – Whose Authority? Our Sabbath Rest Apostasy In God’s Church! 1Testing The Spirits A Message To ‘The Charismatic Church’ GOD TV Is NOT God’s TV GET READY! Malcolm B Heap
A Matter of the Heart
Almost with out exception, church leaders, ministry directors, and ecclesiastical eminences block this last move of God's Spirit. The Work of Elijah today bypasses such people. God chooses many of least esteem and low station in life to take His spiritual work of restoration forward.
To the novice, this seems incongruous and just 'untrue'. Why on earth would church leaders resist the advance of the very Spirit they purport to promote? In one word: motive.
The things of God are matters of the heart, not merely of the head. It's not what you know that is as vital to your spiritual sanctity as what you do with what you know. And for a deceived person – deceived about himself and about truth – it's not even a matter of what he knows, but of what he thinks he knows! This is why many preachers and Bible teachers will find out one day that Jesus never considered them part of His family (Matt 7:15-23). What they did, they did for themselves, primarily.
"Every voice that rises up against you..."
When Jesus takes us to other 'men of God', invariably we encounter a smile and nice words on the outside that hide a hostile unreceptive heart. So God causes something to happen to expose what is within them. It's not for our benefit. It's for yours – and theirs, if they would accept correction.
These men (probably as much as 99% of church leaders, preachers, ministry directors, etc.) are hypocrites. And Jesus had few compliments to pay such people! (See Matt 23.) He cut them down! Why?
Because He was acting as Prophet of God.
When God appointed me as a prophet, I didn't seek to be one. When someone told me that I had just been appointed such by God, I didn't believe them.
But God told me through another prophet as he prophesied over me, "Every voice that rises up against you, you will condemn..." Only later did I understand, as I saw God at work through what He got us to do.
So, God chose the least esteemed, so that no flesh should glory in His presence (1 Cor 1:29). He brings down the high and lofty, the proud and arrogant. He has always worked this way (see Is 57:15; 66:1,2).
We get a lot of criticism for 'criticising' others. Such people fail to understand that the purpose of prophets is to 'tread on toes', that hopefully people will see the wickedness in their own hearts and turn. But usually the response is otherwise, as Isaiah wrote:
I was enraged by his sinful greed. I punished him, and hid My face in anger, yet he kept on in his wilful ways (Is 57:17, NIV).
It's why the religious leaders had Jesus crucified. And they're still crucifying Him today!
